Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Festival of Trees 2009

This week Mimi will be very busy working at Festival of Trees . It's a huge charity event benefiting our local Primary Childrens Hospital. Last year almost 1.5 million dollars was raised at the five day event. Opening day is Tuesday Dec 1st and will run through Saturday Dec 5. Hours are 10 AM to 10 PM. I'm selling tickets or you can purchase them at the door.
Every year people and organizations from all over the Wasatch front come together to raise money. Some decorate trees, wreaths, or gingerbread houses. Some donate boutique items, goods and services, baked goods, and lots of people give thousands of hours to help out at the festival.

All the trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses are auctioned off. There's a sweet shop, a boutique, Santa's there of course, there's live entertainment, a scone and cinnamon roll booth, and the Kids Korner where you can get your face painted, craft, talk to an elf, play a few games and have a great time.

I'm on the Kids Korner committee and the Mister and I will be working at the auction on Tuesday night. It's such a wonderful way to get in the holiday spirit. It's held at the Expo Center in Sandy, Utah. For you local girls Email me if you want tickets, $3.50 for adults, $2.50 for children $14.00 for six immediate family members and must be purchased at the door. (Wednesday only) Every single penny that's raised at this event goes to helping hospitalized children who don't have health insurance and can't afford medical care. So all you grandmas out there bring your grandkids, make some memories, have some fun and help some kids who could use a little help. See you there!

How long have you been doing this Mimi?
I love the festival...may not get there this year, have something every evening for some reason.
Its just a really special experience and touches the heart, let alone the creativity.

Mimi, you are such a doll to be helping PCH and the Festival of the Trees. Love it! I need to share with you our experience with FOTT. I'm so proud of you.

Yes, of course we can meet next week. You just tell me what day you can do it. I haven't been to Brenda's shop since halloween.

I have not been to the Festive in years. (sad face) I do remember the fun & exciting spirit there. I hope to squeeze it in this year.

My MIL enters a tree every year. I'm so impressed that you and hubby work there each year.
I hope it will be another successful year.
Take care,

Okay, the only thing I know is that it's ALL pink! Pink tree, pink guitar (next to tree), pink little rocking chair with pink babydoll in it. I don't know anything about the location of it though.
I hope you find her. She's adorable, short and has beautiful white hair. : )
