Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Zion National Park

On the way home from California the mister and I stopped at Zion National Park for a few hours.
It was so beautiful.

The weather was perfect. A little cool in the shade but a sweatshirt took care of that.

Have you heard of the senior National Park Pass? When you turn 62 you can get one for yourself. Ten dollars for a lifetime pass, then all National Parks are free for the rest of your life. If we didn't have the pass it would've cost us $25.00 for the two of us. (they charge by the car load) It's such a great deal.

Of course the mister is waaaaayyy older than Mimi;). Mimi won't be 62 for many many years. Well, maybe in a couple of years.

Zion National Park is truly a treasure. We're so glad we took the time for a visit.

Zions is such a wonderful place - especially this time of year when the crowds are gone and you can drive your own car through. Lucky you got to go!

ha ha ! Have you seen the forward of the Obamacare Alskan Cruise line for Seniors?
Well, I definitely think the
$10.00 park pass is a way better senior deal! LOL
Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh, BTW,
I WAS wondering what that scream like noise I heard was the other day. A mouse in your dryer huh? Kind of reminds me of when Anne of Green Gables found the dead mouse in the butter sauce. DO you remember what she said? It was something about being a rather romantic way to parish, drowning in a butter sauce....At least this "POOR" little mouse didn't freeze to death! LOL

DON'T YOU JUST HATE THEM? CREPPY LITTLE BEADY EYED RODANTS! :-)
Sigh, When/if....we get to create our own worlds, do we have to have mice there.............. lol

I'm so glad you took time too so you could share the beautiful pictures with us. Magnificent isnt it?
When you said 62...I said out loud "no way"...but then if Mister is, then you might as well save money getting older, right.

Utah is a beautiful place to live.

Does Mimi need some cats....rodents in the dryer?

Ha! Got a kick out of, "for Many Many years". You're so cute, Mimi Sue!
Guess what...we spent one night of our Honeymoon at Zion's. I have the cutest pic of hubby sitting in a rocking chair on the porch of the little cabin we stayed in. : )

That is beautiful--that's one park I haven't been to and I think it will be awhile before I go with the kids--I'm pretty sure we'd be kicked out and fined for some kind of desecration done by the ever-curious Mr D.

It was fun to see you, too on Saturday. My husband said, "Hey isn't that your blog friend?" Funny. WEre you so glad we were all the way in the back so we wouldn't get called up to sing or play piano at the spur of the moment? That was so crazy. But I was impressed how well people did.

You had a MOUSE in your DRYER?! Eek! Is your heart still racing?

We just went through Zion's about a month ago. My husband worked there one summer when he was 18 years old and he love to go back and visit whenever he can.

I like Zion too (and Bryce). Before we moved to Utah, we were traveling in our RV and we had to get onto highway 9 or 89...and had to go through a portion of Zion. They charged us $25 to drive on the road to get there....
You should of waved as you drove by Enoch. I can see the freeway from our back property. I would of said "Hey there goes Mimi". lol.

What a beautiful place! Some day I would love to head out west to see some of our national parks. It is all so different from the Michigan landscape. I hope you have a happy and Blessed Thanksgiving Mimi:>)

Sweet Mimi Sue~I'm strolling in to catch up and especially to wish you and your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving!
It's such a wonderful time to stop and reflect on all those we cherish and are truly grateful for.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to visit and leave feeling inspired!

Even though our Thanksgiving is very small in number, with hubby and son (we don't count the cat cause she doesn't like turkey). We don't scrimp on the menu...from appetizers to desserts with several carb loaded dishes in between! We will be enjoying tryptophan playoffs too!

Sweet Holiday wishes,
Sara

That looks like a beautiful place! You asked me about a lampshade I recovered and I am just now responding to your question. Sorry! I don't glue it all over. I just use hot glue around the edges. Very easy! The hardest part is cutting the fabric to fit around it.
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

It will be a couple of years for me (to be exact) before I qualify for the pass. I'll definitely want one. Your photos are beautiful!
