Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. Beautiful Lake Tahoe

Last week the mister and I took a little break and visited Lake Tahoe with some friends. We've known these two couples since 1977 and lived in the same town for years. We raised our kids together, went camping together many times, our boys were in the same scout troop, our husbands on the same softball teams. They're more like family than friends.
We stayed in our friends timeshare. Our condo was on the top floor overlooking the beach.

The boys took the boat out every morning and went fishing.

They even caught a couple of Macinaw trout. The girls made some flip flops with water balloons and shoes from the dollar store.

We played lots of games.

We went shopping, out to dinner, cooked a little, and talked from morning to night.

Thanks guys! We had a great time.

Nothing quite like a get away with those you love...I could feel Nature at its best too...except the snow on the mountains made me get a chill.

wow, no wonder they went out fishing every morning!

And the balloon flip flops what a fun thing to do just tie those balloon right onto them flip flops...how fun to see them come together.

You'll have to go more often Mimi

Looks like a piece of heaven on earth!! Thanks for taking these beautiful photos to share with us.

I love the darling little red chair you got from the 'give and take'. When my brother lived in Boston, there was a 'put and take'...you can only imagine the treasures he brought home, repaired and made over.
Have a good weekend, Mimi-Sue.

Sue - I'm catching up on a few blogs and just read this entry. I grew up in Truckee which is real close to Lake Tahoe and my favorite place on earth! I'm glad you got to spend some time there!
