Mimi Sue's Cottage

A home is much more than a house built of lumber, brick, or stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. We are responsible for the homes we build. We must build wisely, for eternity is not a short voyage. There will be calm and wind, sunlight and shadows, joy and sorrow. But if we really try, our home can be a bit of heaven here on earth. A Very Fun Little Visit

Mimi just got back from visiting these two little monkeys. Oh, and their mommy and daddy too of course. We had such a great time, we played the ice cream scoop game. Too fun.We, well they, did some rock wall climbing. Got our faces painted...Made macaroni necklaces...Did a little shopping in old town Murietta...And Fallbrook, California...

We framed an old picture... Frame from Home Goods, picture of Mimi, daughter #1 and daughter #2 about 1982
We did a little furniture painting...And pillow making...

And wool applique stitching...

And grand dog playing...

I can't believe how much I miss them. They are just too far away!On the airplane trip to California we flew over the Grand Canyon.

On the way home, this terrible wildfire that has destroyed 3 homes and evacuated 1600 people so far.
I'm counting my blessings today. How about you?

Love the shopping, but especially the darling girls. I look forward to that day...but not too soon. :)

Wow, love your pictures of the grand canyon and the fire.

My house is somewhere under that enormous plume of smoke! We could hardly breathe, and now I have ash everywhere. Bleh!

But glad we were far enough away to be safe, even if our lungs weren't!

P.S. I think growing pumpkins in a frame is a good idea. If I have space next year I'm going to try it too!

It looks like you were having way too much fun! Your grands are so adorable. Those freckles! The antique shop looked like a very dangerous place to shop ;-) The photo of you with your daughters is so sweet. Loved seeing it!
